The SuperNova Early Warning System (SNEWS) represents a significant advancement in the field of astrophysics, functioning as a global network of neutrino experiments tuned to detect supernova neutrinos. Its primary objective is to deliver timely alerts to the astronomical community regarding potential Galactic core-collapse events. This capability is crucial for enabling comprehensive multi-messenger observations, allowing researchers to study supernovae across various phenomena, including electromagnetic emissions, gravitational waves, and neutrinos. Following a prompt alert from SNEWS, there is a possibility that a supernova may become visible to the naked eye within hours or days.

This application leverages the immediate alerts issued by SNEWS to facilitate notifications on iPhones via Apple’s Push Notification System. It serves as a supplementary tool designed for both the astronomical community and the general public, who harbor an interest in astronomical events.

It is noteworthy that a supernova event detectable by SNEWS occurs approximately once every decade. Therefore, users are encouraged to download the app and maintain it on their devices while awaiting future supernova events.
